Michael Cinco has become an imprint in the world of fashion and a curriculum taught in schools and universities despite his young age. The designer, who set out from Dubai despite the short time and strong competition, was able to prove himself in decorating the red carpet of international art festivals, and the most famous stars such as: Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, and Aishwarya Rai, but this time they will be on display at the prestigious SCAD Museum of Fashion and Film.
He is the Filipino designer Michael Cinco who started from Dubai in 2003 and is still based there. His work has been chosen as the subject of an exhibition at the University of Savannah Museum of Art and Design, known as SCAD, in Atlanta, USA.
The exhibition is expected to include a group of the most famous designs that bore the signature of Cinco and were worn by international stars on various occasions. It is the first exhibition of this 47-year-old designer, and it will run between October 3, 2019 and January 5, 2020. The designer stated in this regard: “They want me to display designs that bear my signature and were worn by the most famous international stars … I have never dreamed.” Showing my costumes in a museum, but I am proud and lucky to have achieved that.”
Among the most prominent designs that will be included in the exhibition, we mention the charming blue dress that Indian star Aishwarya Rai wore in the year 2017 during her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, and through which she turned into a modern Cinderella, in addition to The butterfly dress she wore on another occasion.
This exhibition is expected to highlight Cinco's comprehensive vision in the field of fashion, and his ability to combine French techniques in the field of high-end tailoring with Filipino touches in the field of fabric selection and embroidery. Among the well-known names that have previously participated in exhibitions at the SCAD Museum, we mention the British designer Vivienne Westwood, and the Venezuelan designer Carolina Herrera. As for other projects that Senku is currently interested in, he is also collaborating with the official ballet troupe in the Philippines, where he will design dresses to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of this troupe, which will be held next September.
