What is the relationship of clots to taking the vaccine against Corona?

After the setbacks that affected the Covid-19 vaccines produced by AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson during the last period, with a number of countries moving to suspend their use after reporting cases of rare blood clots, German researchers were able to decipher the mystery of this clot.

And they said Wednesday, they believe, based on laboratory research, they have found the cause of rare and serious cases of blood clots in some people who received the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

They also explained in a study not yet reviewed by experts, that Covid-19 vaccines that use adenovirus vectors (cold viruses used to transport vaccine materials) send some of their components to the nucleus of cells, where an error may occur in reading some instructions for making Corona virus proteins. They note that the resulting proteins may lead to coagulation disorders in a small number of recipients.

Scientists, as well as drug authorities in the United States and Europe, are searching for an explanation for why it causes rare but potentially fatal clots and is accompanied by a low platelet count, prompting some countries to stop or limit the use of the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

Johnson & Johnson said in an email statement: “We support ongoing research and analysis of this rare condition as we work with health experts and agencies around the world. We look forward to reviewing and sharing the data as it becomes available.” AstraZeneca declined to comment.

In their paper, researchers at Goethe University in Frankfurt and other locations explained in their paper that vaccines using a different technology known as messenger RNA, such as the one developed by Biontech with Pfizer, and also developed by Moderna, transfer the genetic material of the coronavirus protein into the fluids inside. Only cells and not to the nucleus of the cells.

The paper suggests that vaccine makers using adenovirus vectors modify the protein sequence "to avoid unintended interactions and to increase safety".
