According to a report by the English newspaper “The Sun”, the Academy is currently making some contacts to postpone the ceremony scheduled for February 28, for a period of four months, to give filmmakers an opportunity to finish filming and montage operations after the pause caused by the outbreak of the new Corona virus.

The season of films participating in the Oscars usually begins after the end of the summer season and the popular films in it, as studios and international production companies seek to release their films scheduled to participate in the Oscars, starting from November and December of each year, so that they are in the minds of viewers, critics and members of the Academy in the event of their participation. The course is held every year in February.

The decision to close the cinemas and stop filming included the postponement of many films that are nearing completion, including the new James Bond movie No Time To Die, which was postponed from last April to next November, in addition to the new part of the fast9 action series.

In statements quoted by the English newspaper, to a source within the Academy, he said: “The organizers of the Oscar party have been seeking for weeks to hold talks to postpone the ceremony due to the decision to postpone the release of many films due to the Corona virus. Film studios have postponed their shows until the 2022 concert to be eligible,” adding, “The organizers are suggesting to postpone the concert from February to May or early July of the same year to give the films enough time to participate and complete filming.”
