Dina Batma again leads the way in the case of celebrity blackmail You know In the media of "Hamza Moon Bibi", the Court of Appeal in the city of Marrakesh, on Wednesday morning, sentenced Moroccan singer Donia Batma to 12 months in prison.
The court ruling came after Batma was convicted of broadcasting and distributing through information systems people’s statements and photos without their consent, and broadcasting false facts aimed at compromising the private lives of people with the intention of defaming them, within the framework of the investigation on charges of the artist’s participation and entry into the automated processing system for the aforementioned data through fraud.
On July 30, 2020, the Court of First Instance in Marrakesh had sentenced Butma to 8 months in prison, before the Marrakesh Appeals Court issued, on Wednesday morning, its ruling by adding 4 months in force, bringing the effective prison term to 12 months.
The authorities also ordered Batma to be banned from travel several months ago.
It is noteworthy that the artist had repeatedly denied her connection to the controversial account, and considered that she was being subjected to a campaign by people who wanted to offend her and undermine her artistic success, after which she unfollowed a number of artists on the “Instagram” website, hinting that they did not support her in the recent crisis.
Artists and celebrities in Morocco and abroad had indicated that the "Hamza Moon Baby" account, for which Batma was convicted, had destroyed the lives of many of them.
