Design Days Dubai opens its sixth edition in Dubai Design District

 Design Days Dubai is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and in strategic partnership with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. Presented by Design Days Dubai; The only annual exhibition in the Middle East and South Asia dedicated to collecting limited edition designs, and one of the most prominent and popular cultural events in Dubai - presents a range of international designs and art installations, in addition to the general program of the exhibition, which hosts a number of leaders and experts in the design industry at the global level.

The exhibition achieved a record number of exhibitors participating in its session this year, the largest in the history of the exhibition to date, which is evidence of the growth and maturity of the design scene in the United Arab Emirates and the region as a whole, which is embodied in the presence of 125 designers represented in 50 showrooms, and 400 works technician from 39 countries.

Design Days Dubai maintains its role as a catalyst for the development of the design community in the UAE and the region as well as being the ideal platform for launching emerging designers. This year, 21 showrooms and design professionals from the United Arab Emirates participated, presenting their collections of diverse designs ranging from furniture, lighting units and various decorative pieces, compared to the participation of one showroom from the United Arab Emirates in the inaugural session of the exhibition in 2012. The exhibition is positioning itself as a platform for the fast-paced design culture in the Middle East.

From its unique location as an exhibition of discovery, Design Days Dubai provides the opportunity for visitors to experience and taste a wide range of innovations in the field of design, in addition to the opportunity to meet with designers and listen to their explanations about those designs first-hand.

The showroom is well-known for its selection of world-class designs along with a wide range of prices (ranging between $500-$75,000) that attract different segments of new generation collectors as well as seasoned collectors alike. Design Days Dubai is also proud to attract the attention of those interested in participating in this event, including visitors, exhibitors and actors in the international design community.

Turning to the inaugural presentations, which include a group of creations presented by the elite of international design galleries and studios, which include: the bronze collection entitled “Transformation” by the pioneering French designer and master of professional art, Pierre Bonnevi, and presented by “Galerie Leclerc” (France / USA). ; The dazzling large-scale photo installation by French sculptor Geraldine Gonzalez entitled “Flying Chair”, which is considered the most beautiful work in the designer’s record to date, is presented by “Gallerie Terretoire” (France / United Arab Emirates). In addition to the wandering work, it is a self-erecting sculpture made of solid bronze inlaid with frosted glass and LEDs by Irish designer Neve Berry, courtesy of Gallery Todd Merrill (USA).

The exhibition also hosts inaugural displays of works from the region, including: Spiral 2 by Lebanese jewelry and lighting designer Marie Monnier, a limited-edition handcrafted copper and LED sculpture; The highly anticipated first porcelain collection of renowned Emirati designer Al Joud Lootah; A group of innovative wood and resin tables by emerging designers Tariq Harish and Farah Kayyal from Aperso Design (Jordan); In addition to the murals inspired by the organic formations of Irish designer Michael Rice. For the first time since its establishment, Design Days Dubai presents classic design through the MCML Studio (UAE), which specializes in masterpieces from the mid-modern era.
