And the auction house expected in a statement, Wednesday, to sell the light blue chiffon dress, designed by Edith Head, for between 4 and 6 thousand dollars.

Also up for auction will be a sterling silver and gold-plated Cartier belt that Taylor requested to have her mother's name engraved on it. Darren Julian, president and CEO of Julien's Auctions, said he expects the belt to sell for more than $40.

The auction will take place December 6-8 in Beverly Hills, California. It will also include jewelry, wigs, artwork and collectibles from Taylor's home. Julian said he also expects to display artworks that could sell for up to $60.

Taylor died in 2011 at the age of 79. And she embodied the magic of the golden age of Hollywood with her love of diamonds, her violet eyes and her tumultuous love life, which witnessed 8 marriages, including twice to British actor Richard Burton.

During her career that spanned seven decades, the British and American actress first achieved fame in the movie "National Velvet" in 1944 when she was 12 years old, and was nominated for five Oscars.
