Meghan Markle and Prince Harry perform their last royal duties

Today, Thursday, the British Prince Harry and his wife, Megan Markle, made the first public appearance in Britain, after their announcement Give up for their royal status, in January.

The photographers spotted the couple, as they arrived at the annual Andover Awards ceremony at Madson House in the British capital, London, under heavy rain, and they looked very confident and happy.

The ceremony honors the winners of the Invictis competitions for veterans and injured NATO soldiers, who have put up a wonderful sporting challenge during the year 2019.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's attendance at the awards ceremony today marks one of their last duties as royals.

Prince Harry and Megan Markle will stop performing their royal duties, at the end of this March, in exchange for them playing a "new, progressive role", primarily centered in North America, through which they aim to finance themselves financially.

Harry and Meghan's clothes were blue, as he wore a dark blue suit, a white shirt, and a blue tie, while Megan Markle wore a turquoise dress.
In the rain, nearly 50 people stood behind the barricades to catch a glimpse of the Duchess and Duchess of Sussex, and met them with applause and cheers.

But the biggest focus has been on Meghan Markle, who has not been seen in Britain, since she and her husband announced their renunciation of their royal status, and financial independence from the British royal family.

In January, Harry and Meghan Markle agreed with Queen Elizabeth, Harry's grandmother, that they would no longer work as royals after their surprise announcement that they wanted to seek a "progressive new role" in which they hoped to finance themselves.

Prince Harry and Meghan announced that they will officially step down from their roles in the royal family at the end of next March.

Harry expressed his sadness at having to give up his royal duties, saying there was no other option if he and his wife, Meghan Markle, wanted a future independent of the stifling media intrusion in their lives.

Under the agreement, Harry will remain a prince, and the couple will retain the titles of "Duke and Duchess of Sussex" in a new life between Britain and North America, where they will spend most of the time.
