  2. Flaxseeds can negatively affect blood clotting time. It may take longer than usual to clot and blood may also come out during vomiting or with stool.
  3. High doses of flaxseed can clog the intestines, thus causing intestinal obstruction.
  4. It also contains cyanogen, which causes neurotoxic effects in the body.
  5. Although flaxseeds are effective in preventing chronic inflammation in the arteries, eating them above tolerable levels can worsen the condition of inflammation.
  6. It introduces too much alpha-linoleic acid into the body, which can put you at greater risk of developing macular degeneration.
  7. Flaxseeds are not safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women because they have a strong effect on our hormonal system.
  8. You may even develop a rash. Itching, acne and shortness of breath if you are allergic to flaxseed.
