WhatsApp is adding a favorites list feature
The instant messaging platform “WhatsApp” is testing a new feature that allows users to customize a favorite group of contacts.
In the latest beta version of the app, this feature will allow users to choose favorite contacts to appear at the top of the call log.
This feature also aims to facilitate contact with favorite contacts, as it appears primarily and permanently in the calls tab, so that calls can be made with them with the push of a button, according to what was reported by the “Arab Technical News Portal.”
This feature is found in many communication applications, in order to give priority to displaying the contacts that are most important to the user.
This feature provides a customized way to access contacts based on the user's preferences, and it uses part of the available space in the Calls tab to display favorite contacts, instead of displaying only the call history.
It has nothing to do with messages
It is worth noting that this new feature is related to the mechanism of making calls through the application interface on mobile devices and has nothing to do with messages, as WhatsApp already provides the feature of pinning conversations, to display chats with important contacts at the top of the chats tab.
The WhatsApp platform is constantly trying to improve the user experience by adding new features to meet the needs of application users who rely heavily on the application to make calls over the Internet.
The feature of adding contacts to favorites in the calls tab is still being tested in the beta version of the application, and will be available later through future final updates to the application.
