Al-Ula Governorate joins the International Bike Exchange Team as an official partner

The Royal Commission for AlUla has announced its partnership with the Green Edge cycling institution, known as the BikeExchange team, in the 2021 cycling season for men and women, as a new official partner, as the partnership will begin in the 2021 Tour de France, This partnership will run from July 2021 to December 2023.

The Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate has chosen to partner with Green Edge to offer the breathtaking landscapes of ancient civilizations to cycling fans around the world. The two parties share some common goals such as preserving the environment and encouraging sports to contribute to improving public health, in particular cycling.

 

Al-Ula is a new destination that emerged with the opening of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to tourism recently, but it has been effectively associated with sports after hosting many sporting events such as running races, electric cars and polo. This is also one of the common goals of AlUla and Green Edge founder and chairman Jerry Ryan, who is a pivotal investor in sports and sees it as a way to connect with his clients by using it as a means of entertaining fans around the world. Ryan was a major contributor to the production of the 2017 documentary All For One, and the series Eat. Race. Win for Amazon Prime in 2018.

With a history dating back more than 200,000 years, Al-Ula is home to the historic Al-Hajar site which is the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Kingdom, in addition to the ancient Kingdom of Dadan, the rock-carved open library in Jabal Ikma, and the ancient town of Al-Ula. Today, the region opens up as a year-round destination for heritage, arts, nature and adventure, embracing rail bike trails, functional road bike trails, and scenic mountain trails. Launched in April 2021.

The partnership will include mutually beneficial opportunities for Green Edge and AlUla, which are set to include a cycling camp in AlUla, encouraging the local community to participate in the sport.
