Etihad Airways is an important achievement

Significant achievement for Etihad Airways in its first training program in the Middle East to grant a multi-crew pilot license on Boeing 787 Dreamliners

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has achieved a significant milestone with the first batch of its cadet pilots successfully completing the “Basic Training Program” on a real Boeing 787 Dreamliner as part of the Multi-Crew Pilot License programme.

Basic training flights are organized to train junior pilots on take-off and landing under the supervision of a qualified flight instructor.

The cadet pilots then go through advanced training on the most efficient and advanced wide-body aircraft on the market.

They are Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The Multi-Crew Pilot License Program has been launched for Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

It was developed in cooperation with the International Air Transport Association and the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

In October of 2020, it was designed to meet the growing demand for highly qualified pilots in the sector.

With the aim of obtaining the highest standards of professionalism and skill, the program is designed to train junior pilots to become fully qualified to fly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft by providing an accelerated and advanced training curriculum that takes advantage of the latest industry-leading education technologies.

The program provides pilots with structured training tailored to the requirements of the airline, its aircraft and operating environment.

It includes theoretical knowledge and flight simulator training, as well as piloting exercises supervised by the best flight instructors specialized in that aircraft type.

In this regard, Mohammed Al Bulooki, Chief Operating Officer and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, said:

He said: “The first to complete the multi-crew pilot license program for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner were the Emirati cadet pilots.

This, if anything, indicates Etihad Airways' great commitment to continuing to invest in national cadres by adopting high-level training methodologies.

Through the Etihad Airways Training Programme, cadets will gain advanced training in the commercial aviation sector as we prepare to continue to grow in 2023 and beyond.”
