Market reports and studies motivated Parmigiani Fleurier to design new women's versions, as reports showed that Gulf women spend the most on luxury watches and jewelry in the world. Which attracts the most important names and brands to the markets of the Gulf region.
Parmigiani presented the Tonda Ladies Watches developed for the elegant woman, after the resounding success of the Tonda Metropolitan Celine watches launched in 2016, with two new rose gold models. These two models display the phases of the moon thanks to a completely self-produced movement housed in a polished rose gold case.
The Tonda Metropolitan Celine Edition is available in rose gold and in two dial versions: the first, in ocean blue, decorated with a central lotus flower – a symbol of femininity. This decoration is cut from mother-of-pearl and applied to the dial, from which it rises by 0.2 mm. The satin and brushed finishes of the ribbon design create a play of light that beautifully showcases the quality of the workmanship. The second dial is made of highly reflective white mother-of-pearl and has a lotus flower in solid rose gold, similar to the markings and the case. On each dial version, the bezel is adorned with 76 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 0.52 carats.

Lunar dance at the harbor level
The burgundy moon of Tonda Métropolitaine Sélène mimics the glow of the night sky. It swells thanks to its surface of craters - known as lunar seas - that are obtained by layers of hand-applied successive markings. This watch presents a true representation of the moon on the wrist that disappears and emerges from the wisps of clouds in the midst of the constellation of stars.
The richness of Tonda Métropolitaine Sélène lies in each individual detail and total perfection. The decorative processes that are done manually give it a tangible and unique value.
The complexity of the phases of the moon
The PF318 movement and its moon-phase unit is the 33rd movement manufactured in the Parmigiani Fleurier factories. The principle of operation of the moon phases is based on a gear moved by a clock wheel, which rotates at half the speed of the gear. The gear drives the moon disk every 24 hours via a flexible blade built into the center of its wheel. The corrector at 9 o'clock enables the wearer to independently index the moon with respect to the day and date in order to match its phase with the geo-referenced location.
The PF318 self-winding movement can maintain a power reserve of 50 hours and has excellent speed consistency thanks to the two proven rate-regulating series lugs. This caliber can be seen through the all-round sapphire case back, decorated with the Côtes de Genève, beveled according to the finest luxury watch standards normally applied by the Parmigiani Fleurier Manufacture.
