Mount Vernon has been the principal residence of George Washington for more than 40 years, and the hero of American independence has continued to expand this district. At the end of his life, the surrounding land was more than 3 hectares, and the house had 21 halls spread over an area of ​​1000 square metres. Mount Vernon was a colonial estate with more than 300 slaves in 1799, about half of whom were returning to Washington. In his will, Washington requested that slaves be freed upon his wife's death.

Mount Vernon is the birthplace of George Washington, the first president of the United States of America and is located in Fairfax County, Alexandria, Virginia. The Washington family owned the land there from the family’s grandfather’s days, i.e. since 1674, and in 1739 the family began expanding its properties under the reign of the family’s grandson, George Washington, who began owning real estate since 1754, but was not its sole owner until 1761. The villa was built in the style of Palladio architecture that derived Designed by Italian architect Andrea Palladio, and built by George Washington in stages between 1758 and 1778.
