Maya said: “I never expected to remain Miss, as the contest elections did not take place last year, and I thought to myself that it was just a postponement, and the contest will definitely happen. But the competition did not take place and a long time passed. I hope I can give the title to a new winner.”

She added, "I am now Miss Lebanon, because of harsh conditions. But at the same time I try to look at this in a positive way. I am thinking about how I can be affected, and how I can use my pulpit to communicate my idea.”
