A Syrian artist faces a two-year prison sentence in Egypt, and the reason is

On Monday, an Egyptian court sentenced the Syrian artist, Samo Zain, whose original name is (Osama Muhammad Al-Abras), to two years in prison with hard labor.
This came after the Syrian artist was convicted of “tax evasion”, where he was fined, in addition to a prison sentence, about 1.4 million pounds (about 74 dollars).

The Tax Evasion Misdemeanors Court revealed that the owner of “My Closer Leah” evaded the payment of 397 Egyptian pounds in taxes, which is the value of the fine as a response to the tax imposed, according to Case Petition No. 393 of 135, misdemeanours of tax evasion.
The court also set a bond of 100 Egyptian pounds (5 thousand and 265) to stop the execution, according to what was reported by local media.
The Egyptian Public Prosecution had charged the artist with tax evasion during his artistic dealings for the period between 2014 and 2017.
He was also charged with "evading the payment of other transaction taxes, including dealing with some hotels and restaurants in Egypt."
