ChatGPT helps a user to lose weight

An exercise plan, developed by ChatGPT, helped a user to engage in jogging and lose about 12 kg of weight, which was evaluated by a specialized trainer, saying that the advice obtained from the artificial intelligence program is really useful.

Healthy gym workouts

And according to what was published by the “Insider” website, Greg Motion, a professional technical engineer based in Seattle, said that he hated running, and it so happened that he asked the free version of the “ChatGPT” chat program online to help him build a healthy exercise habit.

Three months later, Motion said he runs six days a week and looks forward to training. But he was, at first, surprised and a bit skeptical of the AI's advice, especially since it involved starting small and simple over time, starting with putting his shoes by the door. Front of the house and out on the first run for just a few minutes after three days of setting up the program.

Exercise physiology

According to Joe McConkey, exercise physiologist at Boston Running Center and author of “Pliability for Runners,” the insight espoused by ChatGPT bot turned out to be correct, explaining that the highly gradual approach to running is ideal for beginners to make progress while avoiding injury.

McConkey added that it is a big mistake for the training load to be too much too soon, whether it is too much at a time, too frequently or too quickly, noting that the best way to start a running habit to maintain fitness and improve health is a gradual approach.

The most surprising part

Motion said one of the most surprising parts of the workout, which was created with ChatGPT, was that the first steps of the training plan involved no physical activity at all, with the only task on the first day of the plan being to put his shoes near the door, and on the second day He just had to fit training into his schedule, expressing his amazement that "it was so easy" that when he finished it, it "felt accomplished".

Regular jogging

Motion said that he gradually formed a healthy jogging routine that started slowly but steadily, as the first jogging rounds were very short and did not cause fatigue, stressing that the training program is ideal for beginners, advising that there is no need for self-exhaustion, in fact this leads to backfire.

“A novice runner should not think of challenging himself to the point of pain for at least three months,” he said. It's about building a habit, and building scale over time." In other words, a person needs to earn the right upward press at that difficulty to get the most out of [the exercises] safely and effectively.”

Stepped program and treatment guidelines

A good first goal is 30 minutes of continuous movement, slowing down to walking if the person is out of breath and can no longer hold a conversation, and alternating between running and walking as needed. Then the same activity is practiced daily regularly after that, and eventually a full 30 minutes can be run continuously, after which the duration of the run can be increased for a longer distance once a week until the trainee reaches running for 60 continuous minutes.

Motion added that while he was ramping up his daily running routine, he also asked ChatGPT, the chatbot, to help him with some of the aches and pains that were popping up.
