Experts at cybersecurity firm Nexor have compiled a list of the most dangerous and least secure words that should not be used as passwords for online accounts.

Common and dangerous choices for passwords ranged from popular dog names, popular TV shows and sports teams, according to a report published by the British newspaper, "Daily Mail".

Cyber ​​security experts have warned against using passwords similar to these choices, which makes all people’s accounts on various social media, email, or even bank accounts open and open for hacking by cybercriminals.

And advised the company "Nexor" to change those passwords, urgently, in the event that a person uses any of them, and replace them with more obscure passwords to prevent hacking of accounts.

Experts also considered that subscribing to some Internet sites that require the creation of passwords characterized by a set of unique letters, numbers and characters, which may be difficult to remember, is a good idea that can be adopted to immunize those words.

They pointed out that the option to enable two-factor authentication, which requires the user to provide an additional piece of information such as a personal identification code sent via a text message, along with a unique password is an important means of security.

In addition, cyber security experts have renewed their advice on using passwords longer than 12 characters, activating the two-factor authentication feature, warning not to share any personal or sensitive information over the phone and carefully checking suspicious communications all the time.

For her part, Sarah Knowles, a security consultant at Nexor, which works in cooperation with the British government and military, cited that no one was immune from the threat of cyber attacks. She indicated that cybercriminals had recently impersonated the World Health Organization, the American Center for Disease Control, as well as the British government during the Corona pandemic.

Britain's National Cyber ​​Security Center revealed that at least 15% of the UK population uses their pet's name as a password for online accounts.

A survey found that 14% use the names of family members, 13% use an important date such as a birthday, and 6% use their favorite sports team.
