Marie Antoinette's bracelets sold at auction for over $8 million
In an auction held by Christie's in Geneva, a pair of bracelets belonging to the Empress of France, Marie Antoinette, were sold.
These bracelets, studded with 122 diamonds, were sold for more than 8 million US dollars, to an unknown person whose identity will not be disclosed.
These bracelets were sold for twice the expected amount of sale, and according to an initial estimate, the selling price was estimated between 2 to 4 million dollars.
"These bracelets have traveled through time to tell the most important era in French history, with its brilliance, glory and important events," said Francois Curiel, president of Christie's.
