A magic cure for forgetfulness and lack of focus

Experts offer some long-term and short-term solutions that you can implement easily and quickly:

1. More sleep

American expert Johann Hari, bestselling author of the book, said that the number one way to increase attention is to get more sleep, because it is incredibly beneficial and an essential time for the brain to wash away all the metabolic waste that accumulates during the day. And when a person doesn't get enough sleep, it can lead to poor concentration and short attention span.

2. Take care of basic needs

Taking care of basic needs includes eating nutritious and tasty meals, and in this context, Sachs recommends trying a Mediterranean diet and drinking enough water. Other immediate treatments can also include taking a nap or eating a snack.

3. Nutritional Supplements

Taking nutritional supplements helps to utilize the targeted nutrients, thus enabling the vital supporting activities of the brain. Experts recommend taking a supplement that contains instant caffeine from whole coffee fruit and persistent caffeine from green coffee beans, ginseng root, guarana seeds and vitamin B12.

4. Physical activity

Any kind of physical movement is a break for the mind, and sometimes a break is just what the body needs to be more productive. Moving the body helps support memory and cognitive function. A scientific review published in 2020 and published in Translational Sports Medicine revealed that just two minutes of high-intensity movement improves focus for an hour.

5. Meditation

Sacks, Elbert, and many other experts recommend meditation exercises to help focus. Sahaja yoga, in particular, has been shown to help strengthen both focus and control.

6. Turn off the phone

Opening up social platforms for a few moments while at work is more distracting than one might think. In fact, research shows that it takes 23 minutes to get back on track after a distraction. Therefore, experts advise to leave the phone in “Do Not Disturb” or even “Airplane” mode, and make sure that it is out of reach while working or studying.

7. Pomodoro Technique

This method divides work periods into 30-minute segments, consisting of 25 minutes of work and a five-minute break. Many people report better productivity and ability to focus after following the Pomodoro Technique.
