Robert Pattinson is no stranger to red carpet perils, and when he dares to go there, he usually wears Dior. The actor, who is the face of the French home, often experiments with classic menswear tailoring—but with a twist. Take this last look in October, as he wore a set of shorts with pantyhose. Last night, fashion lovers were once again shocked: at the 2019 Dior menswear show in Paris, an unexpected outerwear piece was straight from the new collection.

For his front row appearance, Pattinson wore a double-faced coat designed by Dior's creative director Kim Jones. There were many outerwear draped in jackets on the runway, and Pattinson's coat emulated that motif with its double-breasted style and the attached thick wool sash. (It's called half-coat, half-blanket.) Under the actor, he wore a leather jacket for added warmth, finished with light brown khakis and massive boots. If anyone can pull off that kind of tough layering, it's Pattinson.
