The Hollywood Arab Film Festival announced honoring the great artist Leila Alawi, with the Aziza Amir Award, during the activities of the second session,

Awarding Laila Elwi the Aziza Amir Award, one of the pioneers of Egyptian cinema, due to her artistic career filled with many important works.

He pointed out that the contributions of the honored artist were not limited to cinema only, but also varied between television and theater, through which she also performed some performances, which confirms that she has a great talent that makes her honor worthy.

Laila Elwi is one of the most prominent stars of the Egyptian screen. She entered the artistic field from an early age through children's programmes

On the radio, and after graduating from the Faculty of Commerce, her talent was discovered by the late great artist Nour Al-Sharif, who in turn introduced her to the theater, to embark on a busy career during which she participated in more than 160 artworks that varied between theater, cinema and television.

Among her most prominent films are “A Husband on Demand”, “Dead Execution” 1985, “The Age of Wolves”, “The Harafish” 1986, “Gharam Al-Afaa” 1988, “The Rapists”, “Underwater Hell” 1989, “Al-Hajama” 1992, “The Third Man” 1995, “Oh Dunya Ya Grammy” 1996,

“The Throat of a Monster,” “Tuffaha,” and “Destiny” 1997, “Laugh the Picture, It Looks Sweet” 1998, “I Love Cima” 2004, “The Seven Colors of the Sky” 2007, “Baby Doll Night” 2008, “Mama Pregnant” 2021, and others.

It is noteworthy that Aziza Amir, an Egyptian artist born in 1901, was called "the mother of Egyptian cinema".

Given her unique contribution to the cinematic field, with talent, ambition and persistence, she worked as an actress.

And the Tunisian artist, Zafer El Abidine, won the “Arab Star” award.

The activities of the second session of the festival, which bears the name of the late great director Muhammad Khan, will start.
