What is the importance of coconut oil in treating corona?

With the increase in infections with the emerging coronavirus, the World Health Organization always emphasizes good nutrition  For cases that do not require hospitalization and stay at home away from others, in order to combat this epidemic that killed the world more than a year ago, leaving millions of injuries.

In this regard, a recent study conducted by the “Food and Nutrition Research Institute” of the Ministry of Science and Technology in the Philippines revealed that adding virgin coconut oil to diets helps cure Covid-19 disease.

The institute also confirmed that “virgin coconut oil can be used as an auxiliary food supplement with potential cases of Covid 19, due to its immunomodulatory and antiviral properties,” according to the Manila Times.

The study - whose results were published in the International Journal of Functional Foods - included 63 people who were residing in two facilities for the isolation of corona patients in the Santa Rosa area, Laguna region.

It is noteworthy that the Corona virus has infected more than 171 million people worldwide, while the total number of deaths resulting from the virus has exceeded the threshold of 3,57 million as of Wednesday.

Infections with the virus have been recorded in more than 210 countries and regions since the first cases were discovered in China in December 2019.
