Canadian actor, Christopher Plummer, best known for starring in the musical classic 'The Sound of Music', passed away today Friday, at the age of 91 years.

Plummer left his home in Connecticut, while his wife, British actress Eileen Taylor, was at his side.

At the age of 82, Plummer won an Oscar for his role in the movie “Beginners” in 2010, and was nominated for the same award for his role in “The Last Station” produced in 2010 and “All the Money in the World” in 2018.

According to Deadline, Christopher Plummer is the oldest actor to win an Oscar.

Among Christopher Plummer's most famous roles on the cinema screen are the 1999 movie "The Insider", with actors Al Pacino and Russell Crowe, based on true events, and the black comedy "Knives Out" and "The Man Who Would Be King."

But the distinguishing “mark” in his career remains the formation with actress Julie Andrews of one of the most beautiful “dues” of world cinema in the musical classic “The Sound of Music”.

In the film, Christopher Plummer embodies the role of a strict widower with his seven children, who all escaped the Nazis in 1938, and then falls in love with Julie Andrews, who plays the role of a woman he hires to take care of his children.

Christopher Plummer was born in Toronto, Canada, on December 13, 1929, into a distinguished railroad family, and was the great-grandson of Sir John Abbott, the third Prime Minister of Canada.

Plummer admitted to a tumultuous lifestyle during the 1970s, and said his third wife, Eileen Taylor, after their marriage in XNUMX forced him to stop drinking too much.
