A new feature revealed by Google has been added to the “Google Earth” service provided by the company, which helps the user to see the most prominent changes that have occurred in different locations around the Earth, over the decades.

The new feature, called "Time Laps", will allow users to explore the evolution of locations on the map around the world.

24 million photos

The company also indicated that its team has collected at least 24 million satellite images of the planet over a period of 37 years.

To that, Rebecca Moore, a Google official, said: “With Time Labs in Google Earth, we have a clearer picture at our fingertips about our changing planet,” noting that the new feature “presents not only problems, but even solutions, along with the fascinating natural phenomena that have been manifested.” for decades.”

Google confirmed that it will be adding new images for this feature over the next decade.

It is noteworthy that the feature allows users to follow many events taking place in several regions around the world, including the impact of climate change accompanied by forest fires, floods and melting of several ice spots.

In March, Google unveiled another feature that makes it easier for users to share photos of the sites they visit, and aims to make Maps not only a way to get directions, but a way to help plan trips as well.

Through the “Google Earth” application, users can obtain the numbers of local companies and institutions, find out how to reach them, learn information related to parking and how to pay parking fees and share their experiences with others.

It is reported that the application had added a feature, last September, that explained “the extent of the spread of the Corona virus in a specific area.”
