In the early twentieth century, different colors were assigned to racing cars to distinguish the different nationalities of the teams. The Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition is the latest creation by Girard-Perregaux, designed in collaboration with Aston Martin Lagonda. The dial is filled with an impressive gradient of a color called "Aston Martin green", achieved by carefully painting the enamel twenty-one times, resulting in seven distinct coats of paint. Automotive effects also include cross shading, a diamond-like pattern first seen in the automaker 'AM' logo (1921–1926). This shape is also inspired by the padded seats found on many high-end sports cars.

With its octagonal profile, this model is a tribute to the iconic 1975 Laureato from the watchmaking house. Continuing the Girard-Perregaux design philosophy, the watch case plays with different shapes subtly. In addition, the numerous curves, facets and lines, along with smooth, polished edges, play with light in a dazzling way.

The case-back of the sapphire crystal allows a view of the Maison's automatic movement, caliber - GP03300 0141, the first time that a Laureato Chronograph has an open case back. The movement, based on the prestigious GP03300 caliber, is decorated with Côtes de Genève embossed in circular and straight patterns, polished recesses and thermally threaded screws.

The watch houses a 904mm 42L stainless steel case. This special grade of steel is less common than 316L and more expensive, and its relative advantages are superior rust resistance, better scratch resistance, and a brighter and more luxurious appearance.
