In light of the accumulation of life, and the difficulties and problems facing a person that cause anxiety and tension, a person needs to practice some exercises that would give a state of calm represented by psychological comfort and physical comfort. These exercises are called “relaxation exercises”, and perhaps one of the most famous examples of them circulating among people is yoga, in addition to the fact that it teaches you how to face life’s difficulties and problems with steadfastness. Before talking about these most important relaxation exercises, it should be noted the importance of exercising on a daily basis, which begins with a period of 1-10 minutes, and then gradually increases in terms of time to reach 20 minutes.

The most important relaxation exercises:

  • First :
    Deep breathing: It is one of the simplest forms of relaxation, and this exercise is based on how to breathe in a good and correct manner, and the advantages of this exercise are the possibility of practicing it at any time and in various places, and its quick ability to give you a feeling of less stress in the event of its presence. The mechanism of deep breathing is to breathe deeply from the abdomen so that you place one hand on the stomach and the other on the chest, following the inhalation of oxygen through the inhalation and exhalation, taking care while withdrawing the air slowly and deeply from the stomach, noting that the hand placed on the stomach rises and falls during entry and air out.

    Gradual muscle relaxation: This exercise is one of the best relaxation exercises, works to relieve tension, anxiety and psychological pressure, and its mechanism is to focus on the right foot and tighten its muscles and count to ten, and then relax it with attention to your sense of it after completing its relaxation, moving then to the foot left in the same way. You have to apply this exercise to all muscle groups in the body in the following order: right foot, left, right leg, left, right thigh, left, buttocks, abdomen, chest, back, right arm and hand, left, neck and shoulders, face.

    Meditation: one of the best and easiest exercises, it works to get rid of fatigue and tension, it requires a place characterized by calm, especially gardens, because they contain beautiful aromas that help meditation. It is also possible to practice meditation in a sitting, standing or walking position. For example, you can sit with your eyes focused on a landscape so that it is the point you have chosen as your focus.
  • Fourthly :
    Imagination: By imagining yourself sitting in a place that constitutes a source of freedom and comfort for you and is beloved to your heart as the sea, a poet, through your imagination, as if you are standing on the seashore or your favorite place. Where a person can, through imagination, recall pictures of happy events he went through, or imagine from them what has not happened yet, and he will also be able to live the happy events in his mind through his imagination as if they were taking place completely in his reality.
