Tik Tok respects its users and protects against bullying

While the Tik Tok application is one of the social networking applications that have very high rates of bullying and bullying directed at content creators, especially teenagers, the company has started implementing many new strategies to combat and reduce bullying to keep application users safe.

In December 2020, the platform began implementing stronger anti-bullying and cyberbullying policies, and last week it introduced two new features that help the user block abusive and malicious comments.

First: The new comment approval feature in the TikTok app:

TikTok previously provided a feature that allowed users to filter comments by keyword so they could prevent insults, profanity, or other problematic content from being posted on their videos.

And now it has expanded the feature as the app can now hide all new comments in posts until the user reviews them

Then approve it, as messages that it generally approves will appear in the comments section, while comments that the user ignores will be permanently banned.

To enable and enable the new comment review feature in the TikTok app, follow these steps:

• Open the TikTok app and go to your personal account.
• Click on the three dots at the top left.
• From the menu that appears to you, click on the (Privacy) option.
• On the next screen, click on the option (Who can comment on my videos).
• Select the Comment filters option.
• Switch the button next to the "Filter all comments" option to the on position.
To see all pending comments, follow these steps:
• Return to the Comment filters list.
• Click on the Review filtered comments option.
• Click on any comment, then select whether you want to delete it or agree to post it.

Second: Using AI to review comments:

In addition to the new comment review tool, TikTok now automatically checks comments before a user posts them, using artificial intelligence to identify language that conflicts with the app's policies.

Then if a comment is found to contain one of the forbidden words that was previously saved in the AI algorithms of the TikTok app, a warning will appear to the user telling them that their comment they want to post may violate the rules and give them a chance to review the comment or post it anyway.

However, users will not be prevented from writing potentially offensive comments, as users can bypass TikTok's warnings and prompts to reconsider and post their comments anyway.

Often, even if they do, it is expected that the video owner will eventually be able to block the comment using the previous comment approval feature and prevent it from appearing in the comments section of their TikTok post.
